SPP1819: Rapid evolutionary adaptation - Potential and constraints

The priority programme integrates theoretical analyses with empiricial studies of rapid adaptation and evolution in pro- and eukaryotes. To this end, interdisciplinary approaches from evolutionary biology, population genetics and ecology will be employed. Current DNA sequencing technologies and corresponding bioinformatics tools will be used for the study of genetic variation.

SPP1819 is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Karl Schmid, Institute of Plant Breeding, Seed Science and Population Genetics, University of Hohenheim.
